Today he is thought of as being the super-model of Viking lore, a pleasant gentleman with a gentle soul that everyone just loves to be around.
Does that really sound like someone the Asgardians would love?
It is true that the old myths feature Balder as a man so beloved by (almost) everyone that promises were made by everything in their world that nothing would ever cause him harm.
But what would make such a man so popular in a world where violence and feasting were the most favored pastimes?
